The “gold standard” for clinical diagnostic detection of COVID-19 remains the PCR test. For patients who currently have symptoms that could be due to COVID-19, the nasopharyngeal swab test is needed for diagnosis. Results will be provided in 24-72 hours. Please note this is the test required for travel and airline carriers. Also PCR test is the preferred exam for Pre-operative testing and Return to School requirements.
